This is great news for Jamaica.
It brings to the fore front the discussion of the need for community and sustainable models for tourism in Jamaica
How can Jamaica continue this success, but with all of the country benefiting from the increase in visitor numbers and an increase of revenue coming into the country?
A start would be to look at the full range of the tourism product and the many different aspects which it has, such as Health and Wellness,Eco tourism and exploiting the Food,Music and Culture of Jamaica the keeps visitors coming back year after year
Community development is key to the sustainability of the tourism product, for it to thrive and grow from strength to strength is take all Jamaicans working towards its success. this takes investment from the government, and working with local parish councils to ensure local communities have the skills and knowledge to be able to participate and benefit fully from the tourism product.
This will in turn help to build safer and more productive communities which is a win win situation for all.
